The Inevitable Disclaimer

This blog is different from my usual fare.  It is unabashedly political, unashamedly opinionated...

Oh, wait.  That's exactly my usual fare.  Never mind.

Seriously, though, there is a difference-- this blog is different in terms of its purpose.  For a while now, I've been contemplating separating my political musings, rambles, and rants from my other weird rambles.  It's not that I don't love a good political discussion-- I do.  In fact, my love of all things political is probably grossly unhealthy (not to mention weird and abnormal).  But I also believe that a healthy mind is a well-rounded mind, and I find that hard to accomplish when my personal blog is swallowed by politics.  For instance, my latest personal writings include:
  1. Senator Ted Cruz's charts on the USDA's prosecution of illegal guns (I like how having maybe one data point on each chart constituted a "data trend.").
  2. The many expressions of Senator Lindsey Graham.
  3. Filibuster Schmilibuster--how does the Senate indulge in filibusters, anyway?
  4. Being a Congressman-- do we really elect you to vote?  (Oh, the horror!)
  5. What is a Terry Stop?
  6. If the Supreme Court stirs up anger amongst the US populace, does that make them rabble-rousers?
...And the list goes on.  Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed contemplating these things immensely.  But I think I'd also enjoy contemplating Christian Louboutins, Victor Hugo, good writing, printing bio-tissues, Paris, and reading up on Mad Cow Disease.  (Just saying.)

So here's to a separation of the political from the every day (as much as it can be done, anyway).  All manner of topics will be discussed, including but not limited to: guns, mental health, education, transportation, budget, foreign policy, Supreme Court, etc.  SNL quotes and clips will probably make appearances.  #obamaswag will be appreciated.  The doings of John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and Ted Cruz will be pondered upon.  #bidenwinning will be fan-girled.

You have been warned.
